Who am I?
I am a Nutrition, Catering/kitchen Management and Behavioural Performance Leadership Consultant, trainer, and speaker. My goal in life is to positively disrupt the care industry, to create a care sector that delivers exceptional care to all, is valued by society, sustainable and environmentally thoughtful.
I decided to start the Nutritional and Catering Management company because when at university I worked as an agency chef in many care homes and was not only concerned about what was being served but also the way it was served and the amount of waste.
I also noticed that training in this area and the standard was poor.
I was a chef and have worked all over the world working on private yachts and being a troubleshooting Manager for a contract catering company. I have worked in different areas in the care industry and worked with the homeless training them in catering to give them the skills needed to work in the catering industry.
I decided to change my career and went to Glasgow Caledonian University where I studied Human Nutrition and Dietetics and graduated in 2009 with a BSc in Applied Human Nutrition. I then went on to set up a company delivering nutrition and kitchen management training and consultancy to the care sector.
I then went on to do a diploma in Behavioural Performance Management and leadership in America.
I am also a member of the Professional Speaking Association.
I have spoken at conferences, and carried out training, consultancy and workshops around the UK.
I have just delivered a pilot project that I have developed around food, nutrition and mental health in conjunction with Bipolar Scotland. In the past I have developed and delivered healthy eating projects for schools. I am on the core steering group for the F.E.A.S.T Study (Feeding, Eating and drinking in neurological care: Sharing practice to Transform care)
In my non business life, I like to get out and about ( well when we are aloud), cook, golf, I am a leader with the Girls Brigade and love spending time with my 2 daughters.
